New favorite hot-spot Headingley Manitoba also served as the backdrop for much of Andrew and Jenn’s engagement photo shoot. A quick trip to the ever-popular Exchange District was also in store for the zany newlyweds to be. Here’s a short snippet of the fun:
Here’s a sampling of Duncan and Courtney’s engagement session. We borrowed a Mustang convertible and hit the mean streets of Headingley Manitoba for some PDA. Rounded out the afternoon by taking some shots outside the CanWest Global ballpark.
[Read step 1] Once a photo of Michelle had been approved by the client, the next step in the billboard design process was to chose colours from the Booth College pallet and complete the layout. In regards to her photo, we ran some minor retouching and applied a high-contrast treatment that has been used for Booth’s promotional materials for the past year and a half. The model is normally pulled from their environment or background and then repositioned. Obvious enhancements include an outer glow and exaggerated drop shadow. These 2 effects aren’t typically used together, but it’s become a part of the Booth College visual signature. Further examples will be posted to this site soon. Wait! There's more » » »
Samson Design Studios is currently working with Booth College to produce a general awareness billboard. The first stage of the process took place on a cold December morning. Our model – third year student Michelle – and I spent the better part of the morning at various Winnipeg locations, doing our best to find well-lit indoor locales, and avoiding the bitter windchill. Michelle’s infectious smile and bright-eyed enthusiasm is just what the college is looking for in promoting it’s offerings to prospective applicants. The billboard is scheduled to run in select Winnipeg areas over January 2010.
The entire process from photo to billboard will be chronicled over this and a second post. A few samples of the day’s efforts are below. Wait! There's more » » »
